On November 24, 2023, the Hamburg Alster swimming pool was ceremoniously reopened after 3 years of construction and an investment of EUR 80 million. The impressive “swimming opera” from the 1970s had to be fundamentally renovated after 50 years – not only the building, but also the offerings were modernized and expanded: the 50m sports pool was significantly upgraded thanks to a ground-level water level, more exposure after the stands were demolished and the construction of a separate diving pool. New water areas were created with 25m swimming pools, course pools and relaxation pools. The fitness and sauna offerings were also expanded and repositioned as “The Ray” club. PROFUND Consult was conceptually and economically involved in the new concept of the sports pool in 2016 and 2017.
